The Blue Bell Hotel Bar

The comfortable bar of this family run hotel serves very substantial bar meals - the steak and kidney pie or game pie, which are served with chips or potatoes plus salad or vegetables, are both highly recommended.  A roaring fire during the winter months and the country hotel décor ensure a cosy atmosphere.

The Blue Bell bar has a good selection of spirits including malt whiskies.  Draught beer includes Calder’s Cream, Guinness and John Smiths Bitter.

The Salmon

The Salmon has recently undergone a complete refurbishment and a is friendly. welcoming village pub.  A full menu is available in the clean, attractive well stocked bar. Several cask ales are also on tap.  Families are welcome at The Salmon.  The pub hosts a number of functions such as a weekly quiz  (Wednesday), monthly bands and occasional discos.  The function room is also bookable for parties.

The pub and toilets have disabled access, there is a heated smoking canopy in the beer garden.

The Black Swan

The Swan is under new management and will be serving meals in the near future.  More info shortly....

Belford Community Club

The club offers entertainment in the upstairs function room at weekends and special occasions. Downstairs the lounge, snug and games room are fairly typical of North East working men’s clubs.  The lounge has a 5p fruit machine with a £75 jackpot, which remains fairly elusive!  The club is very popular with local residents and is very friendly and welcoming.  Drink prices are slightly cheaper than the local pubs with a reasonable selection of beer and spirits.

The John Dory Fish and Chip Shop

Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday with extremely tasty fish and chips, sit in or take away.  The nearby town of Seahouses must be the fish and chip capital of the North East with all cafes offering excellent fare and generous portions.  Recommended are MacKay’s and Pinnacles.

The Well House Coffee Shop

The Well House is the place to sample the Northumbrian specialty, Singing Hinnies, a flat scone served warm then spread liberally with butter.  Sandwiches, cakes and light meals are available to take away as well as eat in.. The coffee shop is featured in "Tea Rooms of Distinction" and lauded as  "probably the best tearoom in Northumberland".

Groceries

Co-Op offers a wide choice of goods including a range of breads from Rothbury Home bakery.  Although not local a good selection of sausage and bacon from Cumbria are on offer.  The Co-op is  open until  10 pm,  has a decent off license section, ATM,  magazines, newspapers and National Lottery.
